Agent-based models in cellular systems

چکیده

This mini-review discusses agent-based models as modeling techniques for studying pattern formation of multi-cellular systems in biology. We introduce and compare different model frameworks with respect to spatial representation, microenvironment, intracellular extracellular reactions, cellular properties, implementation, practical use. The guiding criteria the considered selection are that they actively maintained, well documented, provide a development workflow.
